Why Healing Can't Wait

I am enthralled. Healing Is Required is finally available for pre-order and I could not be happier.

Well…

Actually, I could list the things that did not go the way that I wanted.

I could share the moments where I was so indecisive that I became frustrated with myself.

I could make a list of the things on the project plan that are still open…with my name next to them.

I could even share the gory details of the traumatic technology mishaps that still haunt me.

But I won’t. You know why? Because it is done. I am joyful nonetheless. Ecstatic. An imperfect work with an imperfect plan, completed by an imperfect author, is on its way to help people heal. Whew. I said it. I am imperfect and joyful at the same time. Who knew?

I am healing.

You see, perfectionism almost kept this book from helping me heal. It arrived at the right time in the hands of my early readers too. For some, it helped them heal something in the moment. For others, it offered words to confirm what they know is happening in the world and within us. For others, it was a reminder that they are not alone as they show up to help others heal and transform in the way the divine leads them.

I want you to know that writing this book and delivering it to you was a battle. The fight began in my mind, my heart, and even my physical body. There was so much raw emotion as I wrote my stories and processed what God showed me was at stake for all of us. I had a lot of "small feeling" moments too, you know, the moments when you wonder how these things will get done and there is no answer other than FAITH.

Let me be clear (cue the party horns), I am celebrating the completion of this work. I just want to make sure you have the whole story. You see, over the past few weeks, my perfectionism kicked into full gear and was locked into battle with the part of me that is peace, ease, and flow. I suppose I want you to remember that healing is a process and that navigating your defaults is an ongoing part of your work. I know healing is taking place because I saw my default creep into the driver’s seat, get put back into place, and now I am writing about it here.

I Am Healing.

Still slightly annoyed with technology, apps that don’t love you the way you love them, and God’s resistance to giving me the blueprint in full…but I am here. I am healing. I am the first partaker of the wisdom in this book and am honored to say that. I am so grateful for this moment and I want to thank you for joining me on this journey.

I want to remind you that you are healing too. Some of you saw yourself in this article. Maybe you have a love relationship with an app that doesn’t love you back (can’t wait to share that story) or you can identify with the perfectionism default. Whatever came up for you is precious information. Laugh, cry, sigh…do whatever is needed to witness yourself.

You are healing, too.

Even the act of considering this book will open up a new level of healing for you. That’s how it works, because that is God’s design. Your healing is required too.

I will share wisdom to help you remember your own within and to call you home to yourself.

I will be here to teach and demonstrate love for humanity so that you can feel the heart of healing that God sent to earth for us.

I will be here…cheering you on to fulfill your divine assignment, just as you are here cheering me on as I walk in mine.

"Mean What You Pray"

This week on The Anika Apple Podcast- Divine Guidance

I’ve realized throughout my journey as a leader, strategist, and guide, that my intentions often shape not only the outcomes of my actions, but also the quality and authenticity of my relationships, with myself, with others, and even with the Divine.
Yet intention, simple though it sounds, is an elusive cornerstone. I used to assume that my good intentions spoke for themselves, that they were pure, obvious, and enough. But I’ve learned that, as with all things internal, unspoken motives can create confusion, disappointment, and misalignment, in leadership roles, in teams, and especially in families.

In my September episode of podcast, I highlighted that clear intention doesn’t thrive in vagueness or hidden hopes. Think of the biblical story of Judas, who cloaked a selfish motive with seemingly sensible logic. It is all too easy to say the “right” thing and not mean it, to pray for outcomes we haven’t honestly prepared ourselves to receive, or to act generously while secretly longing for acknowledgment in return. What God, or life, asks of us instead is transparency, both to others and to ourselves.

The most pivotal lesson I’ve learned about intention is deceptively simple, but it has transformed the way I live and lead:

State your intentions clearly, especially to yourself.​
Don’t settle for assumed or secret hopes. Say out loud what you are truly after, what you honestly desire, and let those around you (and your own spirit) see it. There is no room for confusion, disconnection, or misaligned action when your intention is brought into the light.

When I practice transparent intention, I find that I can more freely build relationships, collaborate powerfully, and move toward the outcomes that matter most. My prayers gain traction, my teams work with clarity, and my personal growth stays grounded in what I genuinely seek.

​I invite you to share in asking the questions I use for myself: ​
1. When I help others (at work, at home, or in the community), do I have unspoken expectations of what I want in return?
2. Is there a gap between what I say I want and what I actually desire or am willing to receive?
3. How might unclear intentions have complicated my relationships or my life in general in the past?
4. What habits or beliefs make me hesitant to state my true intentions directly?
5. How can I practice bringing my deeper motives into honest conversation, both with others and with myself?

At the end of the day, intention is not just about what we do, it’s about who we are becoming in the process. When I choose to bring my motives into the light, I find greater peace, deeper connection, and a stronger alignment with God’s purpose for my life. My challenge to you is simple: pause, check in with yourself, and name your true intention before you take the next step.

Because when we live and lead with clarity of intention, we don’t just move through life, we move with purpose, grace, and freedom.
