Remarkable Life Newsletter: Your True Mirror

Your True Mirror

This week we are kicking off our six-part Docuseries, The Making of An Entrepreneur. For those who already know me as Anika Apple, the Divine Voice, Trusted Advisor, and Coach this series will be a sweet reintroduction to who I am and the gifts I possess. In this series, I share my backstory on how I discovered my unique identity. If there's anything I'm super clear on in this moment of my life it is my ability to "see people" and my mission to help people see themselves so that they can build a remarkable life. Not only do I get to share my life and business lessons, but I also get to help others achieve their wildest dreams. Check out episode one below!

On this episode of The Making of An Entrepreneur I talk about the importance of truly seeing yourself. Something I constantly ask my clients is, "When was the last time you gazed at yourself in the mirror? Were you looking deeply to see what is present and what is not?"

Our relationship to our reflection has significant meaning. In a time where we have phones in hand constantly, capture selfies throughout the day, and the luxury of the camera to make sure there’s no salad in our teeth before a meeting, we are more disconnected from our reflection than ever. A study completed by Within Health* found that “1 in 10 Americans avoid looking into the mirror.” Over 50% of the participants looked at themselves between 1-4 times a day. The rationales for avoiding looking at our reflections varied, mostly relating to seeing features of ourselves that make us less confident in how we look.

At the same time, we have more access to seeing ourselves than ever before. With social media, zoom meetings, FaceTime and all of the virtual ways we connect, it has become difficult to really avoid our countenance. With all of the additional opportunities to see ourselves, why would we want to avoid looking? What might make you want to avoid seeing yourself?

I'm thrilled to announce I am featured in the 6th Edition of Insight Magazine! In the article, I was able to talk about my gifts as a trusted advisor, and executive coach. I emphasize the importance of healing, becoming centered with yourself and recognizing personal patterns that prevent you from living a Remarkable Life. When we heal, everything around us changes. Healing helps you have the confidence to choose not to worry about people accepting who you are and what you say. Once we move past the need for external validation, we can live remarkably in all areas of our lives.

EMBRACE CHANGE

"The art of disruption is about acceptance"

“I’ve been called to help lead organizational change; it’s part of my purpose. However, the biggest disruption has been personal change. It matters because we focus on what happens in business as if it's separate from people, but it's not. There’s a quote that says, “There are no business problems; there are only people problems.” Disruption is a way of life; we recognize that change always happens...If I can accept that change is happening, I can embrace opportunities I never imagined.”

While I Was Busy Loving You I wonder how many hours an individual spends thinking about their love relationships. From being a lovestruck teenager to navigating adult dating to keeping a marriage healthy and connected, there has to be thousands of hours racked up. If you include the time spent with best friends, therapists and any other listening ear, we can almost double the hours spent thinking about the relationships. While they are important conversations to have, we are often focused on...

The Path To Safety Within The truth is we all need healing. Our healing journey is individual AND collective. Our healing is complex, especially right now. We are in the midst of continued repealing of laws, selling off of historical landmarks, and quietly redesigning with the “American Way” is…without the full voice of America. It’s an uncomfortable time for the majority of people. The uncertainty continues to mount and more seems to be revealed by the moment. In moments like these, we...

It's Time To Heal I am a healer. It feels good to own that identity. While many of you may be thinking, "Yes, we know," it still feels significant to me. I think we all experience that moment. Your purpose often feels larger than life… because it is. In my case, I have some notions around what qualifies a person to be a healer and I’ve been working through those. I am a healer. I heal people, businesses, communities and I’ve also facilitated healing within our ancestral lineage. I’m glad I...
