This thing has levels, y’all

When I made the shift from corporate, I believed I was ready for EVERYTHING that business ownership could throw at me. I was no stranger to under-resourced, minimally funded and transforming businesses. Did I ever tell you about my Head of HR role that supported 3 GMs and led DEI for an entire business segment? Listen, I was pretty clear that my successes there proved I could do anything!

And I can. I am. I will.

But not without acknowledging the road that I’ve been on. It’s safe to say that most of my decisions hit immediate conflict. I’ve navigated lack of clarity, hiding, resourcing challenges, team structure and the ultimate question: where to focus my efforts. All of this in a business that God showed me and designed.

I’m not sure why I thought the road would be simpler. In truth, it probably is much simpler than I made it because I was fighting myself the entire time. I realized that I was creating what I thought others expected me to create in the beginning. Then, I started to create more of what I wanted but was scared to really share it. I’ve been living one of the core truths I share with everyone. I support every client with exploring how who they are shows up wherever they go. Truth is, we all know that it’s harder to see yourself than it is to see others, which is why all great coaches have coaches!

Here is what I know. The moment you are ready to see more of who you are, your patterns and the roots beneath them, the pathway to explore them opens. My journey, every 6 months or so, takes me much deeper into the root of who I am at my core, what I came here to do, and how areas of healing influence who I am becoming. My relationship with my business strengthens every time I address my own needs for healing and transformation.

The levels are always there. If you could see all the way down to the root of things at the beginning of your exploration, you would experience overwhelm. Thank GOD for the levels, literally. They give us space to rest during progress rather than feeling overwhelmed by the depth of things we can’t quite fully understand yet.

The tool that has been most impactful on my journey has been this… my Truth.

The truth you tell yourself holds so many clues about what is really going on. Sometimes we silence the truth we know. In other moments, we trade our truths for someone else’s. Truth can feel evasive and sometimes layered. I believe that you and I are holding different definitions of what truth even means at this very moment.

Discovering Truth for myself has changed who I am, my business, relationships and how I relate to life itself. It’s not something to create. It exists within you, waiting to be unleashed. You already know it, just like I knew owning a business would require something from me that I didn’t yet have. It wasn’t in all of the courses, coaching, mentorship and masterminds, although they are so valuable. I had to start with truth, really what was within me. It set the foundation for what you see today and where we are growing (yes, not going, but truly growing).

Real talk, I am living my Remarkable Life. This season is one of miracles. I am trusting God in a way that I did not know was possible and watching things unfold around me in ways that blow my mind. I am healing my relationship to being our best-kept secret while preparing for the one-year anniversary of Healing Is Required in a few months! I am building on a solid foundation and am so excited for what is to come.
